About Txt2Mail
What is Txt2Mail? What can I do with it?
Txt2Mail means two-way email to mobile phone connectivity. Combining the power of two widely acknowledged killer applications, email through the Internet and the Short Message Service (SMS) on GSM phones, Chikka's "email to SMS" gateway service lets PC users send text messages from their very own email address to any SMS-enabled mobile phone. In turn, mobile phone users can instantly send and reply to emails received as text messages.
How is this different from other SMS to email service?
No matter which email application you use, PC to Instant Messaging to Mobile Phone to web intercommunication is now made possible, through Chikka's infrastructure. Txt2Mail makes email and instant messaging fully interoperable; with it, PC users can send and receive instant messages (in the form of an email) to mobile phone users (in the form of a text message).
Mobile phone subscribers need not have a PC with email and Internet service; type-in hard-to-remember keywords; submit email passwords or replace their existing SIM card and handset. Txt2Mail is backed up by Chikka's patented technology, which does not use a GSM number for its SMS gateway. Txt2Mail guarantees that if the email sender's name is saved on your phone's address book, the email senders name will display when the text is received. What's more, registration with Txt2Mail can be done purely through one's mobile phone.
Is my email kept private and am I protected against unsolicited mail and spamming?
Txt2Mail is supported by Chikka's powerful and intelligent blocking system to offer protection from unsolicited mail and spamming. Txt2Mail utilizes several security measures to help safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identifiable information and shall not, in any way, disclose and monitor the contents of a user's email or text message.
Who can use Txt2Mail?
Any user can send and receive emails, to and from a mobile phone, provided that the mobile phone is subscribed to a carrier that is supported by Txt2Mail. Currently, Txt2Mail supports subscribers of SMART Communications, Inc. and Globe Telecom subscribers. In the near future, we will be offering our mobile services to other telecom providers as well.
PC users can send and reply to text messages received as emails; using an email client (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.) or webmail client (e.g. Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.).
How do I access the Txt2Mail main menu from my mobile phone?
Simply sending the word MAIL to a designated access code (277 for Smart Communications and 2371 for Globe Telecom) returns a power menu with options to A-Send Mail, B- Change email, C-Check email if blocked, D-HELP.
