Chikka V2 Arrives!

December 15, 2002

The company that gave us FREE, two-way instant PC-to-mobile two-way messaging has come out with a new client version. Introducing, Chikka v2.0!

Chikka v2.0 has all of the original Chikka Txt Messenger's functionalities, while bringing PC-to-mobile messaging to a higher level, incorporating elements gleaned from user feedback.

Chikka v2.0 brings with it some exciting innovations.

For example, the former 50-buddy limit has been expanded to a whopping 200! Buddy lists can now have as many as 200 PC, mobile or unified (both PC and mobile) contacts, with their presence detected every time the PC Chikka user runs Chikka v2.0. The new version also goes through corporate firewalls, now allowing many of those in the workplace to "chikka" in the office (this had entailed a protocol change that does not however violate typical corporate policies).

But best of all, Chikka v2.0 now allows PC users to send messages to a mobile phone subscriber, even to those not currently on their buddy list. This is the ultimate convenience, cutting the long process of inviting, adding and then getting explicit permission to send messages, and instead, giving the mobile user the option to BLOCK the message sender outright. On the other hand, accepting the message will automatically add the sender as a buddy!

"Our users play a big role in shaping our company's products," said Chikka Asia, Inc., CEO Dennis Mendiola. "Chikka has always recognized the subtle shifts in what the public wants. Direct customer feedback especially from overseas on-line users has more importantly led to the creation of v2.0."

This sensitivity to user issues is evident in the variety of Messenger versions that Chikka has released.

Other Chikka Txt Messenger versions include the Javalite application, a special favorite of those who frequent Internet Cafes, whose upgrade to version 2.0 is currently also in the works. "Javalite" is a fast-loading application that allows you to log onto and access your account from any PC without having to download the Chikka Txt Messenger Client. There's also Chikka Txt2mail, which, as the name implies, allows users to send and receive mobile messages using email and vice-versa.

There you have it, still three ways to Chikka, the coolest new version out and more in the works.

"As usual, you asked for it, you got it!" added Mendiola.
